The Lion's New Crib

I think this title is responsible for me not being active blogging for the past few days over the weekend. I've been busy looking for houses/room to move in as my contract with the old owner is out. And then spend the next few days moving things and packing/unpacking. Well as a result of that I think i lost a few extra pound and get some shape on my arms ;)

After searching round n round PJ area, It finally came to my attention that there's a little house in Chow Yang SS2 having this "room to let" ad outside the fence, i call the owner up and straight away see the room. It was really a love at first sight.

Lovely little room (medium sized) super cooling and not facing main road!!! Yippee!!!
Now check my crib!

Entrance view

That's where the lion sleeps tonight~ Awhimbowep~

And this is where this blog is being posted.

Comparisons of my 2 places in PJ

Old one: @ 21/1, Seapark

Pros
  • Near to a lot of nice food
  • Near to bank
  • Near to LRT
  • Nearer to Sec 14 side can go to Digital Mall
  • Rental is RM350 for a big room
  • Has ceiling fan

Cons:
  • Noisy since the house is sitting at Jalan 21/1 of Seapark one of the busiest road in Seapark connecting to the LRT and most PJ roads
  • Landlord staying under the same roof, guess it's a self explainable thing
  • Competing queue ups for toilet at wrong timing with house mates Argghh!!! Especially nature callS!!!
  • Hot did I mention hot?!
  • Sometime landlord check my room as if I trade fire-arms (doh!)
  • What else you want?!

New place @ SS2, Chow Yang

Pros

  • Quiet, Peaceful. I get birds chipping in the morning it's like having mother nature saying blessings n prayers for you. How do you like to start a day like that?
  • Near to a Park, Can exercise and cut down some weight (hopefully)
  • Less ppl staying only me and the other guy, he's staying in the master room so that means i get the outside toilet for my own!
  • Near to all major roads! If you stay in PJ SS2 you get what I mean, near to Sunway, 1 U area, Ikea area and also not that bad going to KL also.
  • Near to good food also.g
  • This place is also cooling not hot.
  • Rental is RM330!! RM20 cheaper!!!

Cons
  • Car still have to park outside.
  • No Ceiling Fan
  • Still can't think of anything so far so good!
I still have lots of things to unpack but daddy says don't open up those book boxes first, chinese la that's why..so have to wait lo meanwhile... I really like this new place, good vibe!

Learning from the Kamasutra Guru??

Last Thursday I went to an Indian banana leave restaurant in Sec 11 PJ. Food was not bad for the amount that I paid. And As soon as I'm done with the meal. I found myself in a Kamasutra classroom taught my 2 fly guru!!

Check out the pix!!
*Disclaimer! I must admit my phone tho it's a 2 megapixel but the quality of the pix is a bit out I hope for donations in order to shoot better pix :p*

Movie Review---> You Don't Mess with the Zohan

***Community service message!! Please be careful when drinking while watching this movie! Choking hazard might occur in several scenes. Also please massage your cheek and jaws area after the movie.****

Well well our all time favourite Adam Sandler is back! This time around he's a big time Israeli commando, Zohan Dvir who wants out, fake his own death in Israel just to come to America to become a Hair stylist (funny enough the intention).

That's where his new journey started. However his outlook is somewhat like an immigrant from the middle east so he 'repackage' himself into a Austrialian-Tibetan mix with a name called "Scrappy-Coco" (just go n see how he get this name).

After heaps of rejection (since he has no experience, only cut his own hair and a few dogs), he in the end landed in a Palestinian barber shop which ultimately leads him and his gang to unfold a deep conspiracy of the local developers are trying to move them away to build their own new building.

Look at the launch date and the local launch date.
This is not fair!!

PheewW! Nearly spilled everything out for you all....

What can you expect from this movie?

  • Tonnes of laughter, provided you are well-versed in their background ie, terrorist, arabs, Israel/Palestine conflict, hebrew.... even some of the jokes I don't get it. Like "shamutta habibi (what does it mean??)...I saw tonnes of middle east moviegoers having such a good laugh while i sit there looking like an idiot. But all and all a good laugh is guaranteed.

  • That there's a lot of different different type of "middle east people" from Israelis, Palestinian, Iranian, so on.. and we are so ignorant about it by labeling them terrorist? Actually they are not..so understand and respect them lo....

  • Excessive usage of Hummus and the Israeli laxative effect soft drink 'Fizzy Bubblech' for dunno what reason...

  • Mariah Carey, Even she has a role as herself in there.

  • Also Disco!!!

Have fun, sit back and don't forget to massage your jaws after the movie.

Over and out!

Becoming Postman of God

This is truly a gift from Heaven to Pei Sun (and I'm proud to deliver it!) who is able to celebrate her son's 7th birthday followed by a movie outing in Cineleisure area.

First of all Let me introduced our Truly remarkable woman, Ms Lee Pei Sun. At her young time (well now still young la late 20's only!) she used to be a 'truly radiant bride' living almost perfect life with her husband and kid with a job and a promising future. It is only after a car accident that she involved seeding the very seed of her Spinocerebellar Ataxia disease which only outbreak after the birth of her second son, causing her body function to deteriorate as days goes by.

Now living in Beautiful Gate Foundation, PJ Center, She learned soft skills to cope up with her life and also the center help her and others like her to look for jobs/career so that they are financially self sufficient (I don't think so~!). The only reason now for Pei Sun to continue live on is her 2 kids. Despite her limited physically ability, she wants to give both her kids a complete childhood and spend as many time as possible with them. In fact due to her strong will and determination, her condition maintains its state instead of further deteriorating.

Last Friday, her eldest son is turning 7 years old. So being a friend (and our duty roster gang for Pei Sun), we bring their whole family out for a movie outing/shopping!!

We had lunch in KFC at Seapark(tho I didn't eat the chicken there :p), we celebrated his eldest son Pao Pao's birthday there. So there's where all the cake cutting and candle blowing being taken place.

The birthday boy and his mum Pei Sun

Happy Birthday to you!!

I wish my mummy can get well and dance off the wheel chair one day!

This is really a priceless picture. The Gem of the day.

After the cake cutting we proceed straight away to Cineleisure for Wall-E. Tho we missed quite a bit on the front part but Pei Sun and her kids definitely enjoyed the show as much as we do.

Posing with Sullivan n Mike!

Hey Sully! There are new monsters in town! Roar!!!

Wall-E "Aww... Isn't that a lovely family Eva?"
Eve "Hehe you sure know how to make me smile :)"

Da Lion roaming in for photo!

Queuing up to enter smalland in Ikea.

Picture of the day, taken in front of Cineleisure connecting to the Curve.

After the movie, we went to a few places, flea market, Ikea, the Curve and also Ikano power center to do some shopping.

But I'm not happy one thing is Cathay Cinema don't give discount to the disable and they have to pay full adult rate! I paid for 3 adult and 2 kids ticket, it's not about the money but really I think it's a bit unfair having disabled if they say to come all the way to pay for a full adult fare!

Pretty drenched after a whole day of event. But the fulfillment within it's cooler than just donating 1 million dollar to the center or some version like that. I'm so proud to be able to bring Pei Sun and her 2 kids to cinema with the help of my friend Josephine. This is a total breaktru for me comparing to previously bringing them to the zoo and just shopping in Ikea. Imagine carrying Pei Sun down the aisle and to put her to a seat to watch cinema and piggy-back her down to proceed to shopping! It was quite a blessing also that Pei Sun's 2 kids Pao Pao and Kang Kang are quite obedience and cooperative so the whole day journey is pretty fun and juiced!

Isn't that fun?

How can you help?

  1. Donations to Beautiful Gate Foundation. Doesn't have to be just in cash form (well of cos cash would be nice as cash is king!), donations can also be of your old newspapers or any junk that you think you need to throw away, just give it to them! They'll sell these junks/recycle and take the $$ for their funding!

  2. Join us in our weekly roster sending Pei Sun home to see her kids weekly. Now we need more people on this, especially during events of one of her son's birthday or outing to zoo and cinema. As this will enhance the fun and also we can spread out the jobs at least all of us are not so tired.

Special Thanks goes to: Brother Horng Han who 'assigned' this task to me, Aunty Han for providing the lunch and sending Pei Sun and Josephine for being the nanny cum photographer of the day :p.

God Bless!

Movie Review ------> Wall E!!!!

Hohoho! Finally my turn to review this movie!
Initially not knowing anything I was in fact confused Wall E for Short Circuit's Johnny 5!
And it's because of writing this review then I did some research and found out that they are different! Way light years different.

Because we were late so we kinda missed like 25 mins of the show. But still manage to pick up along the way.

The story line is pretty simple, It is said that 2110 that Earth was too toxic for humans to stay on so they leave earth and stayed in a space ship, Axiom (a'la Noah's Ark concept) and one Wall E unit (our main "unlikely" hero) is left behind. It's only when year 2815, almost seven hundred years later, Axiom send a probe robot Eve to earth to look for living form and Wall E's advanture begin by following Eve back to Axiom. Which leads to tonnes of disasters and also crowned our unlikely hero become the hero that saves the day!

Phew!!! I 'nearly' review everything didn't I? Go watch yourself la!!
I can only say 4 words, cute, amazing, education and brilliant! After all this movie is really really suitable to bring kids to watch along (I bring 2 :p) and to start them young to love mother earth or we'll simply need robots like Wall-E to clean up the mess.

Notably, you can see how human has 'evolved' after technology takes over alots of daily applications.

To write this little review, I have to do some homework (as usual). I was a bit upset to come to know that the release date cos in the States and Canada, they'd release this movie as early as end of June 08!! While we have to wait for another 1.5 months? Hello??? Explanation please?? Potong stim kau kau!

But ok lah since it's out, so go n watch lo. And think deeply about giving earth a second chance ;)

My Meatless week so far....

I must say I am proud of my progress, it's been a week now since I started my 'meatless diet'. Things are going good, simply because of this my skin complexion got better and also I lose 1kg out of this simple act!!! On top of that bad breath also gone cos my body is less acidic!

Below are some suggestion of what you can have as a substitution of 'just meaty stuff' or rather what I had over the weekend. :)

Fish porridge with lots of fish cake and fish ball in it.

Goes really well with a Hainam style Teh Tarik.

All time favourite Lui cha!!
(Jo, how come you shoot my tummy one?)

Now this one is really special, Sushi salad roll.
Consist of mangkuang, cucumber, beetroot and also rolled in seaweed, all organic.

Comes with a special sauce.

One thing also throughout my diet, I involved some organic vege in it.
Why? They are simply more nutritious! Usually we just need to pay a slightly extra more to get those extra nutrition, which I think it's all worth it. Also eating organic veg, you tend to chew more times than usual due to their texture are slightly different from other veg which is good for our facial muscles and also our teeth.

I must say I'm still not consider a vegan or anything, but this kind act brings a few benefits:

  • Better Health (doh!)

  • Better Emotional state at all times, less angry, less agitated (Try meatless a week and notice your temper!! Works for me!!!)

  • Reduce global warming (less meat intake = less market demand = less poultry sacrifices = less land to rare these animals!!)
To meat or not to meat? The choice is yours.
Stay Peace!

Can't Smile without you? You = Who?

Can't Smile without you- Barry Manilow

You know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile without you

You came along just like a song
And brightened my day
Who would have believed that you were part of a dream
Now it all seems light years away

And now you know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile

Now some people say happiness takes so very long to find
Well, I'm finding it hard leaving your love behind me

And you see I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel glad when you're glad
I feel sad when you're sad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile without you

Funny to find myself falling in love with this song. It's a very nice old song by Barry Manilow. I only came to know this song from Hellboy 2 (nice movie must watch!!), when Abe secretly played this song in the library but was then later discovered by Hellboy himself. And He's trying to hide the fact that he is in love with Princess Nuala (go watch the whole thing la then you know what I'm bragging about :p ). Then in the end both of them end up having that song repeated 1000 times and both of them drunk with beer. Check out the video what I am describing :)

Humans are just so funny and strange. Now I find myself in a situation consistently improving myself and looking forward to my next relationship but then again the Ironic part is I know myself well enough not to 'settle down' ie have a stable, solid relationship yet. Always have this phobia lately but again longing for a companionship. What wrong with me?

Hard to say.. hard to say.. welcome for feedback. I don't mind harsh words I can take it. :)

New place for a caffeine injection

Yesterday after my dinner I decided to drop by at the Starbucks at SS2 which is pretty near to my house. It's brand new and it's like the whole SS2 resident is begging for a Starbucks in SS2 (I know I did :p).

It's a 2 story shop style and really cozy feeling. Check out the pictures below!

This is the entrance/ ground floor.

This is the upstairs which is pretty chilled.

After this door is the balcony /open air for puffers

My usual Caramel Frappucino Coffee Blended with whip cream venti size. I only manage to get the name correct last night after a few years of Starbucks (shameful :p). Cos usually I'll just go in and say,"Yeah I need a caffeine injection, get me that caramel something with the coffee based one, with whip cream on top and venti size."

Fav drink and the book I am currently reading Book of Secrets - Deepak Chopra. I only can read this book in places like this cos my place is simply too noisy!! Hard to calm my mind down and read. And it's Hard to read I admit it :p

There you go caffeine shot!

I only stayed there for a lengthy 1.5 hours then later tonnes of people coming in so it became more n more chaotic and again I'm done with my drink. So cabut lo..

My Meatless Week, Day 3

Guess what I got for today again? Bananas!!!
But Why bananas? Because it's good, simple, nutritious, economical and filling! Why not?

I got this in cold storage yesterday, cost me a hefty RM6.39. But so what? 2 bananas = 1 meal and there's like 6 of them with me ie RM6.39/6= less than 1 dollar per banana? So if you wanna like have a recession proof diet I seriously think having some bananas is a part of the solution (not all :p).

See how much value for money this can be?

And this is what I have for dinner! Hotplate seafood and rice, at station kopitiam in cineleisure. Again no meat!

Movie Review ---> Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Boy I love this movie . The whole thing is really cute and hilarious.
It's about this guy Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) who just got dumped by his celebrity girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). Because of that he went to Hawaii for a somewhat of 'healing'.

Accidentally he bumped into his ex-girlfriend with another British-rocker boyfriend, Aldous Snow (Russell Brand). While he slowly develop a 'deep connection' with the receptionist Rachel (Mila Kunis) . Then the story goes.......

Ok like the tradition I am not suppose to reveal the whole thing and all and I'm pretty sure if you are looking for the whole story plot you know where to get it.

And I really like Jason Segel's act! He made Peter Bretter so me!! People around me who knows what's going on in my life lately knows what i have been tru and this character is really a resonance of my life!

But the "potong stim' part when they (you know in this country) censor here and there. I was even more upset when I realized how much they've censored it! Yeah but it's forgiven cos there's tones of boob scenes and some 'sex scene' (come'on they are not really doing it!). But I seriously find it funny than sexual? (Am I the only one?)

Seriously, get the uncensored version! Cos it's worth every bit of it.

My Meatless Week Day 2

As a sequel of day 1, I had the leftover bananas from yesterday which is ripen better today so it's tastier.

As for dinner I had Fillet o'fish Mcvalue meal. Hey i'm not violating the rules! Still it's no poultry product ie, no chicken, beef, pork and lamb/mutton! :p

It's Fish!!!

Olympic = 'holan'pic? See how much have you missed

When I was watching the Beijing Olympic openings at Meng Tien, a local open air food court with free wifi, I was really touched especially the last scene when they light up the Cauldron(aka torch /Olympic flame a new word I learn today). It's like Finally!! The Olympic Cauldron is light up by a ChinesE!!!!

I am so freak'n proud that I am a chinese at that glorious moment so are many patrons in Meng Tien too, everyone clap when they announce the starting of the Olympic game! Sad part is that part of Meng Tien has bad projector so we half the time didn't quite get the image properly. Well that's still ok....

I was pretty upset today after realizing that there's a lot of 'deleted scenes' due to lame cameraman and photographer. It is because of them, they MURDERED the whole thing, the whole of everyones effort putting up the show!! How could they do that? Anyways check out the selected scenes I found in the web. Enjoy

The Blazing moment!

This really beats the Sydney 2000's fire on water and Barcelona's 1992 flaming arrow. Really creative, Chinese superman! I wonder what's next?
Having Human torch of Fantastic Four to light up the Olympic Cauldron? That is if the next Olympic is by US. "Here I come Olympic, Flame on!!!"

But Nothing beats this!

So, when's our turn?

My Meatless week

Disclaimer: First of all I define the word 'Meatless' to be no poultry product ie, no chicken, beef, pork and lamb/mutton (no!!!). I still take fish and other seafood stuff. Ok?

As a announcement made in previous post, I decided to go on meatless for at least a week and beyond if possible. Part of the reason is because of the gruesome movie Midnight Meat Train, and partly because of health (hmm.. we'll see..)

Banana for lunch! only RM1.93 Cheap and recession proof!

Tang fishball!! Near my house nothing beats the simplicity of it

Bon Apetit!

Stay tuned for further episode.
